Kang Yatse 2 Climbing

Kang Yatse 2 Climbing is the most striking and easily accessible peak in the Markha Valley. There are two separate routes to approach this peak. Kang Yatse ll is a perfect climb for trekkers who would like to attempt their first 6000-er. The lower western Peak of Kang Yatse II is more easily accessible and therefore frequently climbed. The main summit of Kang Yatse I requires technical climbing skills. Many trekkers approach the climb attempting both Kang Yatse l & ll with additional climbing days. Trekking in Markha Valley helps in better acclimatization and makes it easier to approach this 6000m peak. Kang Yatse peak gives you great views of the Zanskar ranges in the West & the K2, Broad Peak & Gasherbrum Massif in the far North. Kang Yatse II’s lower western peak is more accessible and thus more frequently climbed. Kang Yatse I’s main summit necessitates technical climbing skills. Many trekkers approach the climb with the intention of attempting both Kang Yatse l and ll on separate days. Trekking in the Markha Valley aids acclimatisation and makes approaching this 6000m peak easier. The Zanskar ranges in the west and the K2, Broad Peak, and Gasherbrum Massif in the far north can both be seen from Kang Yatse peak. This 12-day trek is best suited to experienced hikers. Alternatively, those who are physically fit. Kang Yatse II, standing at an impressive 6250 metres, is a serious challenge.
